About us?

We are an association dedicated to the promotion, dissemination and education in scientific and research issues related to pharmacology. Referents in education and technical-scientific endorsement in pharmacology.

Mission

Grouping professionals in pharmacology, disseminating historical and current knowledge of the discipline, collaborating with governmental and non-governmental institutions, providing advice and support to the medical community, promoting and developing research for the benefit of scientific knowledge and rational use of the drug with national and international projection.

Vision

To be a leader in the dissemination of scientific knowledge of pharmacology in all its areas, promoting continuing education, research and specialization of professionals who work in the area of pharmacology.

Our objectives

Promote the strengthening of undergraduate and graduate programs in the field of pharmacology.
Guide the teaching of pharmacology through seminars, conferences and specific courses, to medical professionals and pharmacologists, highlighting their ethical aspect.
Support paramedical personnel through itinerant courses to make a rational use of medicine.
Grouping the country's pharmacologists by chapters to facilitate the fulfillment of the mission.
Stimulate research, promoting competitions that honor the memory of the glories of pharmacology.

Our history

1961

Conceived as a Colombian Society of Experimental Medicine and Pharmacology.

They intervene:
Enrique Nuñez Olarte, Gonzalo Montes, Francisco Puentes and Alfonso Matallana

1975

It was created as the Colombian Pharmacology Association with its statutes and founding agenda.

They intervene:
Guillermo Cano Puerta, Francisco Puentes and José Santos Umaña

1982

Statutes formalization begins

1984

First Census:
130 professionals working in Pharmacology in the country. 32 Affiliates

1985

The ACF acquires legal status by resolution 344 of 1985 signed by the Minister of Justice Enrique Parejo González

1997

The ACF organizes the Pan American and Latin American Congress of Pharmacology in Cartagena. The "Enrique Nuñez Olarte" research award is instituted

Statutes

The Colombian Association of Pharmacology is a non-profit professional, scientific and union organization that brings together professors, researchers, scientists and health professionals related to the pharmaceutical sector.

Its Bylaws set the guidelines within which it works to represent ACF members.
